How Events Get Into ListSend
Right now there is a slight delay between when you create your events and when they make it into the Event Email Marketing platform. This is why and how it works.
Overview
ListSend pulls your events directly from your Event Vesta dashboard. This article explains how that sync works and what to do if an event isn't showing up.
Step 1: Make sure your event exists in Vesta
Events in ListSend come from your Vesta main dashboard. If an event isn't appearing in ListSend, the first thing to check is whether it exists in the main Vesta dashboard.
If it doesn't, you can add it one of two ways:
Step 2: Publish your event in Vesta (without submitting to outside calendars)
You need to publish your event in Vesta for it to appear in ListSend, but you don't need to submit it to any outside calendars. Here's how:
- Open your event in Vesta and proceed through the publishing flow.
- When you reach the step asking you to select distribution sources, select Vesta as the only source.
- A confirmation prompt will ask if you're sure you don't want to select any other calendars. Check the box to confirm and proceed.
- Your listing will appear, and at the top you'll see a final Submit button. Click it to complete the publish.
Once submitted, your event will be eligible to sync into ListSend.
Step 3: Check the Events tab in ListSend
Once your event exists in Event Vesta, navigate to ListSend and open the Events tab.
Here you can see which events and their occurrences are currently synced to ListSend.
Step 4: Manually trigger a sync if needed
Events between Vesta and ListSend are stored in two separate databases and may take a moment to sync. If a recently added event isn't showing up:
- In the Events tab, click the Sync button next to the event.
- You can also trigger a sync from the Campaigns page using the same Sync button.
- Allow up to 10 minutes for the sync to complete. In practice it's often faster, but 10 minutes is the maximum expected wait time.
Step 5: Return to the email builder
Once the sync completes, your event will be available to use in the email builder inside ListSend.
