I Was Charged Unexpectedly — What Happened?
Common Reasons for Unexpected Charges
1. Subscription Auto-Renewal
Event Vesta subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annually, depending on your plan). If you weren't expecting a renewal, it may be that your subscription was still active. You can check your current plan and billing cycle in your account settings.
2. Plan Upgrade
If you recently upgraded your plan or added features like Event Boost, those charges would appear on your next billing statement. Upgrades are prorated based on the remaining time in your billing cycle.
3. Event Boost or Add-On Purchases
One-time purchases like Event Boost promotions are charged at the time of purchase and will appear as a separate line item from your subscription.
4. Free Trial Ended
If you signed up for a free trial and provided payment information, your subscription will automatically begin when the trial period ends. This is noted during the sign-up process.
5. Charge from a Previous Billing Cycle
Occasionally, if a payment fails (e.g., expired credit card), the system will retry the charge once payment information is updated. This can cause charges that appear to come at unexpected times.
